Description
Handy Flux very durable and powerful. It is a general purpose flux that protects your parts from oxides and fire-scale up to 1600°F or (870°C). Being an active fluoride-type flux, it is appropriate for all nonferrous metals. It begins to melt and dissolve oxides at 600°F or (320°C). It is a paste formula, and can be cleaned up with hot water. This is a 7 oz. jar with an applicator brush. We use this flux in our shop with silver, copper, gold filled and brass. It is used for anti-fire scale and anti-oxide applications in jewelry projects.
Tips
- Use liberally on the solder as well as the metal to be joined.
- Liberal use on entire piece will prevent oxidation while soldering and allow solder to flow smoothly.
- The metal and solder should be clean before use so the solder will flow without issue.
- Solder will not fill gaps.
- Metals to be joined must touch.
- Add distilled water to flux when needed for desired consistency.
- After soldering, remove extra flux from piece by rinsing with hot water.
