Up for bids is a WWII production, strong testing RCA, type 83 rectifier tube.
Type 83 is a full-wave rectifier tube commonly associated with use in Hickok manufactured and/or Hickok designed tube testers including the TV-7, its variants and the well-known Hickok 530, 600, 800 and 6000 series of tube testers.
Construction includes hanging filaments for low noise, smooth black plates and a pair of heavy-duty center support rods.   The base is good and tight.  The date code is S4 indicating production during July-August 1942.
This tube was tested for emission, shorts and noise with my Dan Nelson calibrated TV-7/U tube tester using a digital meter for greater accuracy.
The TV-7/U minimum recommended value (65%) for each plate of the type 83 tube is 40.
