Superior Instruments Tester for Southern Telephone and Telegraph

Superior Instruments Tester for Southern Telephone and Telegraph. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Superior Instruments was a  very common company for different type of electrical testing equipment in the 1940's , 50's and 60's. I performed a search online to get some history. I found zero information for this specific tester. There is a fellow that collects this brand online that dates this particular instrument to the Late 1940's. This is an Ohmmeter. It was made for Southern Telephone and Telegraph used for testing for problems on their equipment.
The condition of the instruments is good. It is in a metal case with the , still intact, leather carrying strap. It is in a metal case. There is a name and date scratched in the lid. "BABB" and "1955". I don't know if that is the name of a person or department. The date may give the year it was used. The metal case performed it's function well. The interior if the instrument is in excellent condition. The photos tell the story well. It looks like it had it's original batteries inside. I removed the batteries to prevent damage from the acid that mike leak for either battery. After all these years neither battery leaked and there is absolutely no damage from battery acid. It uses one 30 volt and one 1.5 volt battery. The Ray-O-Vac battery lived up to it's claim of "Leak Proof. If you would like I will include both batteries in the sale. I will not ship the batteries if you don't tell me you want them. The batteries fit in the case with the positive terminal down. I have not tested the instrument to see if it works because I do not have the proper batteries.. The original wires and clips are included. The wires are in very poor condition. I include them and you can replace the wires their original connectors if you would like. The clips and connectors are in very good condition.
This would make a great addition to any collection. Since this is a very old instrument and it has not been tested it is sold "as is". I do not accept returns on sales of this type. I have gave you and honest and accurate description. Thank you for your time!
