Description

The Precision Apparatus Company (commonly known as PACO) manufactured some very high quality test equipment.
Precision called the testing method “Electronamic”, and they argued that is “more than just Mutual Conductance”
of a tube. The tester is designed such that individual grid, plate, and screen voltages and loads can be applied to the individual tube elements such that the tube can be tested in a realistic operating condition. The tube merit meter is placed in the plate or output circuit of the tube.
The tester does not test the tube at only one point on its transfer curve. Through application of "appropriately phased individual element potentials", the tube under test is swept through a wide portion of its plate transfer curves. Thus the tube is tested over its operational range and not just at an arbitrary point.
When you purchase a Paco G-140 Socket Adapter, you can then test ALL tubes . . .
Appears to function properly. I did test my " tester " tubes & they showed what each was expected to.
Didn't test ALL the sockets, but that is usually not a problem.
Chrome has slight pitting.
The scroll chart has a LED strip installed to facilitate easier reading . . . .
If I had the room, I would keep this beast. Really a cool tester, and great appearance.
It's 17 1/2" wide, 11" deep, 24" tall, and weighs 30 lbs.
