MAREL 3 1/2 X BINOCULARS
MARKED "PARIS" "FRANCE"
WITH LEATHER CASE
These are Binoculars - or Opera Glasses-  or Field Glasses
They were packed away for many years in a container free from moisture
They came from an estate of a family friend
Little history is known other than they were in the former owners possession for at least 40 years
They were used for bird watching and outdoor entertainment
They are in
Very Good
condition, considering their age (please see pictures)
The optical glass appears to be without scratches
They need to be cleaned
I will leave that to you, so you can do it safely
There are some small areas of wear on the edges with paint missing (please see pictures)
They measure 4 1/2" wide, 3 1/8 to 3 5/8" long
The large lens frames are 1 ¾" diameter.
The knob in the center is snug and turns as intended
the lenses adjust smoothly
The leather case is of solid construction with a purple interior
The buckles are slightly oxidized but function as intended
The leather is not dry rotted and the stitching is very tight
The leather strap is worn and soft but not fragile
